Wheelchair Lifts

Tysons range of Ricon wheelchair lifts are state of the art hydraulic lifts with many inbuilt safety features to ensure the total quality of care for the occupant using the lift. Ricon have a wide range of lifts to suit all different kinds of vans.

• Lightweight: Ricon wheelchair lifts are the lightest on the market, which means reduced fuel consumption, reduced wear and tear on your vehicle, and less bulk slowing you down in your van. Over even a short period, a Ricon lift translates directly into reduced costs to run your vehicle.

1. Klearvue lifts fold in half when stowing.
2. Klearvue lift in folded and stowed position, allowing vision out the rear of the vehicle when driving.

• Folding Platform Design: Ricon’s folding platform design in the Klearvue range of lifts mean that the driver of the van can still use their rear vision mirror, increasing awareness of the traffic around them, instead of having their rear vision blocked by a rigid platform lift. This translates directly into a safety advantage for everyone in the vehicle through better vision out of the back of the van for lane changing and so on.

The folding lifts also significantly reduces the ability of people outside to recognize that the vehicle even has a wheelchair lift fitted at all.

• Safety Features: Ricon Wheelchair lifts are all fitted with ROLL STOPS, These prevent the wheelchair occupant from ever being able to roll off the lift platform at any stage during the transfer. SAFETY HARNESS, Ricon’s safety harness ensures that unless the occupant is safely and securely in the correct position, with all safety features engaged, that the lift will not operate. Ricon has built in this safety feature to ensure that the lift will under no circumstances operate until the wheelchair occupant is safe.

• Smooth and quiet motion: Ricon has employed internal flow control technology to ensure that all of our lifts operate smoothly and quietly, but most importantly, that they can never jolt or suddenly drop to the floor. This is a critical safety feature that stands Ricon apart from the others.

Unwin Safety Systems

Tysons range of Unwin safety systems go hand in hand with Ricon’s high quality wheelchair lifts. We only use Unwins aluminium tracking system to secure the wheelchair in the vehicle safely at all times.

Unwins safety restraints click straight into their tracking system to provide rock solid attachment for the wheelchair during transit. Unwin have a wide range of restraints to suit many applications, with 4 point wheelchair restraints with an occupant lap belt the most popular.

1. Shown above is Unwins flush mounted wheelchair tie down tracking, in conjunction with Tysons wheelchair compatible flooring, using plywood and hard washable vinyl.

Under Floor Steps and Power Opening Doors

Under Floor Steps
Tysons offer a range of underfloor steps, both manually operated or electric, as well as electric opening power doors.

Power Opening Doors
Tysons have developed a power opening side door for vans. This allows the driver to simply hit a switch and the side door opens automatically. This is most often accompanied by a power underfloor step to make alighting and disembarking easy for passengers.
